S Corporation

S-corporations will need to file additional forms with the Secretary of State of the state it was created in, as well as the states doing business in.

March 15

  • First-year filers must have their Form 2553, Election by a Small Business Corporation, filed to choose to be treated as an S Corporation beginning with the current calendar year.

March 15

  • File a previous calendar year income tax return and pay any tax due. A 6-month extension may be obtained.
    Provide each shareholder with a copy of Schedule K-1.

April 15

  • Deposit the 1st installment of estimated income tax for the current year, if applicable.

June 15

  • Deposit the 2nd installment of estimated income tax for the current year, if applicable.

September 15

  • Deposit the 3rd installment of estimated income tax for the current year, if applicable.

September 15

  • The filing deadline for S-corporations with an extension to file income tax return for the previous year.
    Provide each shareholder with a copy of Schedule K-1, if not done so by now.

December 15

  • Deposit the 4th installment of estimated income tax for the current year, if applicable.
